Strawberry Tours

(All guided tours must be pre-booked.)

Cannamore Orchard is open for spring or strawberry tours. You can book your group or class for a couple of hours to enjoy the farm atmosphere, have a picnic, and use the facilities. Your tour can include an explanation of what goes on during the spring months at the orchard and depending on the time of your tour, pick some strawberries.

You will stop near the bee yard where your tour guide will give a short talk about the importance of having bees for pollination purposes. Inside the museum you can see inside an actual beehive and learn how the honey is removed from the hive to a container.

For the spring or strawberry tours we offer, either in the morning or the afternoon:

  1. Wagon ride
  2. Tour guide to explain about the apple orchard, the bee yard, strawberries, and pumpkins.
  3. Use of facilities including picnic area around scenic pond and waterfall.
  4. A visit to the animal corral to see the goats, sheep, pigs, and ducks.
  5. Use of the mazes: the dark maze (bring a flashlight!); pipe maze, left and right turn only maze, the coloured patio stone mazes, play structures as well as the life-size checkers.
  6. Use of the freestanding finger mazes located around the picnic area and walkways.
  7. Pick a small box of strawberries if your tour is during the berry-picking season. (More can be picked at additional cost).
  8. Receive colouring sheets for your participants.
  9. You can also plant a corn, pumpkin or gourd seed in a cup of soil to take home or back to the classroom.

Note: If you wish we can provide you with instructions for a scavenger hunt.

For spring or strawberry tours, remember to bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen as well as plenty of fluids to drink. We have bottled water and soft drinks for purchase.
