Summer and Autumn weekend fun for the whole family!
So much to do for the whole family!
If you want activities for those summer and autumn weekend days then bring the children and visit the Cannamore Orchard. On weekends when the Cow Train, Wagon Rides, Duck Races and Museum operate, the activities begin at 11:00.
While there are no admission fees for picking apples or pumpkins, visiting the store or using the parking facilities there are charges for individual activities.
On weekends purchase a day pass or a family pass for 4 to use the Family Activity Area where you can make your way through the Dark Maze (might need a flashlight!), visit the animal corral and see the singing chickens, try the finger board mazes, the no left turn maze, pipe maze, and use the many play structures and sandbox with diggers.
As a family you can compete against each other using the duck races or challenge one another using our rainbow maze. You can relax by the pond while listening to the sounds of water cascading down the waterfall. A patio and picnic area, complete with a canteen, is available for your use and enjoyment during summer and fall weekend afternoons.
You can pay for individual activities or you can buy a day pass or family of 4 pass (BEST VALUE) for everything which includes: Family Activity Area, Animal Corral with ‘singing chickens’, Covered Wagon Ride, Cow Train Ride, Duck Races, Pedal Cars, and Green Tree Mazes.
Children and adults will love racing ducks against one another at the duck race located inside the Family Activity Area. Here you will find 10 hand water pumps used to race your duck from one water tank to another. You might want to bring an extra shirt or towel just in case your fun results in some large splashes!
At Cannamore Orchard we have mazes inside the Family Activity Area as well as larger, green mazes, in the field.
Inside the Family Activity Area we have the dark maze (bring a flashlight if you’re afraid of the dark), the no left turn maze, the rainbow maze, and patio stone mazes. For most of these mazes you need to think your way through, finding the exit by planning your route. These mazes are all life size and you walk on or through them to get from start to finish.
The 7 finger board mazes are ideal for smaller ones. These finger board mazes are themed on the orchard or the Spooky Wagon Ride™. Using a finger, you trace your path on the grooved board from start to finish.
We have also planted 7 green labyrinths and mazes, which we hope to open in 2012. We have 2 mazes and 1 labyrinth growing from cedar trees, 1 maze using spruce trees and another maze with Nannyberry bushes. We also have a unique labyrinth using local Virginia creeper. For a more relaxing turn, our contemplative flower labyrinth allows for a slower pace.
While at Cannamore Orchard on weekends, beginning Labour Day weekends and running until Thanksgiving weekend *(only on the Monday of Thanksgiving weekend), enjoy a ride in our cow train or on our wagon.
The wagon ride will take you through the woods, to the strawberry and pumpkin field, into the maze field and through the orchard.
Pedal Cars.. so much fun!
Bring the family to the pedal car track! Here, you can challenge each other to see how many laps you can pedal around the circuit in our unique pedal cars. Pedal cars are like go-karts but without a motor. There are pedal cars for adults as well as little ones. It is not nearly as easy as you think, but it’s lots of fun!
Cannamore Orchard Museum
Located just outside the store is our learning centre. On weekends our bilingual guide is available to show you around this building and to explain, demonstrate, and have you try out some of the materials located inside. The learning centre contains artefacts and materials related to honey, apples, maple syrup, strawberries, cherries, chickens and eggs, and Halloween.
